THE GABLES, is a beautiful chocolate box 17th century Grade II listed Thatched house, set in the charming village of Porlock, offering cosy country cottage style bed and breakfast accomodation with all the modern comforts you will need for a wonderful stay. The house is set in a flower filled cottage garden just a short walk away from the wide open vistas of Exmoor.
The Gables nestles in the heart of the village offering our guests peace and quiet, yet just a minutes walk to the high street with its unique local shops, pubs, restaurants, museums and galleries.Porlock is perfectly situated for walking on Exmoor and the South West coastal path or to finish your walk on the Coleridge Way here. There are numerous National Trust and historic properties to visit or relax on one of our nearby beaches or explore the magnificent Somerset and Devon countryside.
To end your day you can relax in the cottage gardens or our guest lounge which opens out onto the cottage gardens, we have DVD`s, books and games for you to borrow.Breakfast is served in our breakfast room overlooking the courtyard garden where we offer a choice of fresh fruit, juices, cereals and a full English breakfast (made with locally sourced fresh produce where possible) or a continental breakfast.

VINE COTTAGE OUR SELF CATERING ACCOMODATION adjoins The Gables. Set in a cobbled court-yard, it is quietly situated and totally self contained with its own parking in the courtyard.
The cottage comfortably accommodates 3 - both in terms of the comfort of the beds and surrounding living space, we are able to provide a guest bed which will provide extra accommodation for second child or small adult.
The ground floor comprises of a fully equipped kitchen (washing machine, dish washer, and all mod cons) with a light and airy open-plan dining and living area.
Upstairs there is a spacious bedroom with one double and one single bed. And a large bathroom with bath and integral shower.
